She has spent time researching and building on the philosophies and ethos of Reggio Emilia, where nature, relationship-driven environments and experiential learning are core values. Hannah also has a background in Forest School education. She has Forest School Level 1 training from the UK and has experience running Forest School sessions in Hong Kong.

Sandy and Blue
Educator, Therapy Dog Team

Sandy and Blue joined the Little Nomads team as a volunteer therapy dog team. Sandy has a wealth of knowledge and experience in education; she is a life-long learner who loves children, the natural world and her dog Blue. She’s worked with children fostering a sense of wonder, empathy and community as a public school teacher and volunteer at UBC Farm and The Vancouver Aquarium. Blue was found on the streets of Mexico, injured and alone. She came to Canada in 2019 and is happy to share her big heart with Sandy and everyone she meets. Together, they are a certified dog therapy team through St. John Ambulance and the newest members of the LN team!

Anna
Preschool and After School Care Educator

Anna has been an educator with Little Nomads since 2021, and has been our fulltime preschool teacher for the last 2 years.
Anna brings a degree in environmental geography and linguistics, several years of childcare experience, and a love of the natural world which she first fostered growing up on a farm in rural Maine. Anna has lived in Vancouver since 2019, and has come to love and learn lots about the biome here in the coastal rainforest. She aims to incorporate land-based learning and ecology principles into each day, as well as facilitate play and exploration through her love of music and art.
Anna is also a musician and performs regularly all around the lower mainland, and loves sharing in music and visual art in the “classroom” each day, in many different forms.
